잠언 2장 Proverbs 2 새해 영어 성경 공부&필사 (NIV Version)

새해에 들어 다시 성경공부를 시작하기로 마음먹고 2일에 처음으로 시작했지만.. 어제는 하지 못했다. 매일매일 영어 성경공부를 할 수 있으면 좋겠지만 그래도 한번 못했다고 포기보단 다시 앞으로 나아가야겠다. 그래도 성경공부를 어제 하지 못하면서도 느낀 점은 하루 종일 내가 성경공부를 해야 하는데 성경을 읽어야 하는데 시간은 언제 내야 하지?라는 생각을 하루 종일 갖고 있었던 것이 며칠 전 나 자신과 가장 바뀐 것 같다. 

 

어렸을 땐 성경공부를 한다고 하면 막연히 많이 읽고 빨리 읽고 장수 채우기에 급급했다면 요즘은 한 장을 읽더라도 필사와 묵상하는 게 더 좋다. 남들에게 보여주기 급급했던 예전은 장수를 많이 읽고 성경 읽기도 자랑으로 여겨왔기 때문이랄까. 돌아보면 읽었다는 사실은 있지만 글자만 읽었기에 남는 게 그만큼 적었다. 

 

다른 책들은 한번 혹은 아무리 좋아도 두 번 세 번이 다인데 성경은 아무리 읽어도 모자라다는 생각뿐이다. 이렇게 내 생각을 적으면서 드는 생각은 영어로든 한글로든 생각을 정리를 잘 해왔던 성격이 아니기에 글을 쓰는 게 너무 어색하다. 성경공부는 나와의 대화이니 반말체로 써야 더 편해서 오래 쓸 수 있을 거 같다. 혹시라도 이 글을 보시는 분들 불편하지 않으셨으면 좋겠네요.

Proverbs 2

1. My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you,

2. turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding,

3. and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding,

4. and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure,

5. then you will understand the fear of Lord and find the knowledge of God.

6. For the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.

7. He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,

8. for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones.

9. Then you will understand what is right and just and fair – every good path.

10. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.

11. Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you.

12. Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse,

13. who leave the straight paths to walk in dark ways,

14. who delight in doing wrong and rejoice in the perverseness of evil,

15. whose paths are crooked and who are devious in their ways.

16. It will save you also from the adulteress, from the wayward wife with her seductive words,

17. who has left the partner of her youth and ignored the covenant she made before God.

18. For her house leads down to death and her paths to the spirits of the dead.

19. None who go to her return or attain the paths of life.

20. Thus you will walk in the ways of good men and keep to the paths of the righteous.

21. For the upright will live in the land, and the blameless will remain in it;

22. but the wicked will be cut off from the land, and the unfaithful will be torn from it.

 

잠언 1장에서 말씀하셨다시피 여호와를 경외와 두려워하는 것이 지식이 근본이라 하셨듯이 오늘 2장 4절 5절에 보면 은을 구하는 것같이 그것을 구하며 감추어진 보배를 찾는 것 같이 그것을 찾으면 여호와 경회 하기를 깨달으며 하나님을 알게 되리니라고 하신다. 은 혹은 감추어진 보배를 찾는 것이라고 하셨는데 요즘에 비유해 본다면 돈 버는 방법을 찾거나 로또 당첨을 원하는 것같이 라고 정도가 될듯하다. 내가 그 정도만 하나님 알기를 원했다면.. 많은 반성을 하게 하는 말씀이다. 항상 입으로는 부족한 저를 도와주세요 혹은 지혜를 주세요라고만 했지 그 지식의 근본을 모르고 기도한 격이다.

 

하나님과 멀어질수록 하나님을 두려워하지 않는다. 하나님과 가까워지기 원해서 성경을 폈더니 하나님이 주시는 첫 말씀이 하나님을 두려워하라이다. 무서워서 도망가라는 말씀을 주신 것이 아닌 그만큼 하나님을 알기를 원하라고 주신 말씀이다. 요즘 특히 코로나로 인해 교회 다니는 것들과 신앙생활에 제약들이 많아지고 있다. 이럴 때일수록 하나님이 나에게 주시는 말씀들을 더 잘 들으려고 노력해야겠다. 

 

또한 올해 하나님이 주신 이 영어성경공부의 열망을 꾸준히 지키며 살아가고 싶다. 이것 또한 나에게 달려있지만 하나님이 은혜 내려주시고 함께해주셔야 가능한 프로젝트다. 그리고 그 꾸준함을 나 혼자 하면 꾸준하지 못할 거 같아서 여기에 올려 여러분들과 공유하고자 올렸네요. 혹시라도 보시는 분들이 계시거나 응원하고자 하시는 분들은 하트 정도 눌러주세요. 올해도 정말 중요한 일들이 많은데 좋은 결과들이 있으면 하고 기도합니다.
